Between December 2 to 6, 2019, Hochschule Geisenheim University hosted a 27-member delegation from six universities in Kosovo. Kosovan managers and professors discussed topics such as practice-related higher education with a range of departments from Hochschule Geisenheim University.


The conference was held as part of the Erasmus+ project “Theory to Practice Centers for Innovation and Employment” Erasmus+ project, which the Hochschule Geisenheim University participates as a partner. The aim was to demonstrate how teaching and research can be interlinked with practice and its requirements in order to increase the long-term employability of students in Kosovo. 

The participants were given an overview of the various practice-oriented teaching and learning formats of the individual degree programs courses at Hochschule Geisenheim University, in addition to the dual study program as a further model of cooperation between the university and industry. The close cooperation of Hochschule Geisenheim University with VEG – Geisenheim Alumni Association e. V. and Bund Deutscher Oenologen (Association of German Enologists) was also discussed as an important link to practice. In addition, Hochschule Geisenheim University presented its services in the field of knowledge transfer. A further innovative practical example in the planned start-up center by Hochschule Geisenheim University together with neighboring European Business School was also met with keen interest.
