Studying in Hochschule Geisenheim University – Fitore Hajdini from UPZ

Life is a daring adventure, one day you are home reading a book and next day you get the opportunity to  study in a great university like Hochschule Geisenheim University.

I must say these couple of months have been quite a challenge and at the same time I had a lot of fun trying to attend different classes, making new friends and getting to know the city and its’ rules better. I’ve been able to follow a lot of different courses even thought they weren’t in my learning agreement. During this time I learnt a lot of stuff about wine, its’ production, its’ development. In the meantime I found out that I don’t know anything about the wine that my country produces and now I am very interested. Maybe in the near future I might continue my journey in being a businesswoman in wine industry.

Courses are very fun to attend, most of them except for the theory part they have also practice, a thing that in Kosovo isn’t developed that much. Every Wednesday there is a party for students called Wainfass, where our university presents its’ wine and we get the chance to taste it.

Right now I am following some courses from the fifth semester and some from the first and third semester. I must say they are very organised. They start mostly with theory in the first year. In the second year they continue with theory and a little bit of practice, a little bit of wine tasting, so that students can know the difference between the wines. And in the third year there are a lot of projects that student have to write, in addition to use everything they learnt throughout the years in university.

I think this is a great opportunity that it was offered to me and I can’t wait to share my experience with all my kosovar friends.
